PROJECT PROFILE:

HENDERSONVILLE MIDDLE SCHOOL

 

PROJECT SPECIFICS:

Design and permitting for complete re-work of the existing Hendersonville Middle School.  The site work involved relocation of a city street, demolition of existing buildings, grading, utilities, roadways and parking areas, erosion control, stormwater management, soccer field, and outdoor basketball courts.  We also attended monthly construction meetings and met regularly on-site with the contractor for construction coordination items.

 

 

PROJECT CHALLENGES: 

Close coordination with the architects for all site work was necessary, since one existing building was retained for historic reasons.  An existing elementary school located on the same property also had to remain open during the 18-month construction period.  Construction work including deliveries, etc. had to be scheduled around the heavy traffic volumes associated with the elementary school.
